Kanekoa in Concert

Kanekoa is a renowned Maui-based band that has been redefining the ukulele music scene for over 25 years. Known for their unique "ukulele-powered Hawaiian jam-rock" style, they blend Hawaiian roots with rock, reggae, folk, blues, and soul, creating a sound that is both innovative and deeply connected to Hawaiian culture. The band features three ukuleles, a U-Bass, and percussion, with members Kaulana Kanekoa, Vince Esquire, Travis Rice, and Don "Uncle Don" Lopez, who together push the boundaries of the ukulele’s potential. Kanekoa has earned critical acclaim, including the 2017 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Best Reggae Album, and has been praised by music legends such as Bill Kreutzman of the Grateful Dead, who called them “The Hawaiian Grateful Dead” and even hired them to play at his wedding.
