The Green is a reggae band formed in 2009 on the island of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, by a group of friends from the local music scene. The founding members—Caleb Keolanui, JP Kennedy, Zion Thompson, and Ikaika Antone—each brought their own songwriting and vocal talents, making the band unique for its four lead singers. They were later joined by Brad Watanabe on bass and Leslie Ludiazo on drums, with Jordan Espinoza eventually taking over on drums. The Green quickly gained attention for their blend of roots reggae with Hawaiian influences, and their self-titled debut album, released in 2010, was met with critical and commercial success, earning iTunes’ Best Reggae Album of the Year.
